Simone Biles was not some regular gymnast entering the 2024 Olympics. The woman had already been acclaimed as the GOAT of the sport, and it was only a matter of time before the papers that made her one were stamped. Olivia Dunne had her words for her fellow American gymnast before the tournament, She said, “Simone has always been a GOAT, and I think that this is like her revenge tour. What happened in 2020 was a freak thing, and I think that she’s out for revenge and she’s gonna probably win.” Having fought Twisties in the Tokyo Olympics, Simone Biles walked out of Paris with 3 gold and 1 silver medal. Now the question looms whether or not we are going to see her in LA? Olivia Dunne has her words once again.

I think she’s already so accomplished. She’s been the GOAT in my eyes. She is the GOAT, and I think if she goes to L.A. … That would make it her fourth Olympics. This is her, I don’t know, third victory lap. That would be crazy. She definitely could do it.” Said Olivia Dunne in a Q&A session with USA Today. As if not common knowledge, Biles has 11 Olympic medals – the most by any gymnast. Five of them were in Rio, 2 came in Tokyo, and four in Paris. She literally has six skills named after her in gymnastics.

In the session, Dunne also said, “I’m not sure if it’s in the cards for her. I don’t know if she wants to, but she’s the best gymnast of all time, and I have nothing but respect for her as an athlete and as a person.” It is also not clear from Simone Biles herself that if she is going to the LA Olympics or not. “I have accomplished so much in my sport. For me to come back, I would really need to be excited by it,” Biles told French sports newspaper L’Equipe back in April.

She added that 2028 seems so far away, and she is going to get old. She told L’Equipe , “At the end of the competition, I went back to the village, I took the elevator and my body literally collapsed – I got sick for 10 days. So, to be honest, I don’t know. We’ll see.

But that was in April, has she changed her mind in the meantime? Has the lover she has for the sport got a better hold of her to compel her to don the leotard and go swinging the bars once again, put on a show on the floor, and leap the Vault in LA? Has it?

Simone Biles: Should she retire as the GOAT or aim for more Olympic glory in LA?

Have an interesting take?

Will Simone Biles be there in LA?

June has witnessed  a much clearer answer from Simone Biles over her presence in the 2028 Olympics. On Monday, June 2 Biles discussed her docuseries at Netflix’s FYC event alongside executive producer and director Katie Walsh in Hollywood. While this happened, she also told the crowd about her stance at the LA Olympics. She said, “I think it’s such a blessing that [the] L.A. 2028 Olympics are here. I’m not sure at what capacity [I’ll be involved] because if we’ve learned anything from the docuseries, it’s that your mind and your body have to be in sync.”

Biles then went to tell that she has taken a time off from gymnastics before of two reasons. Number 1 – to support her husband Jonathan Owens and Number two, “To just take time off because what we put our bodies through on the mat is a lot. It’s physically taxing, and at my old age… I’m 28. For a gymnast, that’s old! I started at like, 4! But I do believe that I will be in L.A. —  I’m just not sure at what capacity yet, if that’s on the mat or in the stands. But I’d be more than happy to attend in any way that I can.”
