Imagine looking so good at an event that your wife jokes, “Maybe I’ll keep him inside.” Well, Jonathan Owens showed up at the MET Gala 2025 feeling regal. It was his first-ever MET appearance, and he was lucky enough to have his wife, Simone Biles, by his side. But once he reached there, the script flipped. The limelight fell on Owens, and he bagged a crucial achievement that night. PS: This is something that even Biles couldn’t stop gushing over recently. Curious? Hear it from the G.O.A.T. herself.
The MET Gala day this year was a special one for the couple. It was a date night, leading up to their second marriage anniversary the next day. But apart from love, if there was one thing that caught the eye about Simone Biles and Owens that night, it was their fashion. No wonder, it’s been quite some time, yet they are garnering praises for the same. But the mystery box cracked open today when a secret achievement that Owens bagged that night, which was unbeknownst to the public, was revealed by Biles!
Simone Biles has always been proud of her husband Jonathan Owens’ achievements. This time, it was no exception. She attended Netflix’s FYC red carpet for “Simone Biles Rising,” where she spoke to Scott Evans from Access Hollywood on June 7th. That’s when she gushed about Jonathan Owens’ appearance at the 2025 Met Gala. Speaking of Owens’ all-white look, she said, “He kind of killed it.” Biles even added, “I know he was on some of the best dressed list and obviously it’s my husband, so I think he’s the best dressed anyways, but to see everyone else agree, I’m like ‘not too much…'”

All this while, we knew that Simone Biles and Owens made it sixth on Vogue’s best-dressed couples list from MET 2025. But him getting an individual merit that night? This was under the covers until today. While she didn’t reveal which list exactly the Chicago Bears’ safety made it on, we found his name on Vanity Fair’s best-dressed list for the MET 2025 as well as the British GQ Magazine list. Looks like when Jonathan Owens showed up at the MET in an all-white suit from Nigerian brand Deji & Kola, a sparkly walking stick, and a furry throw on his shoulder, which he believed was a “modern take on the Harlem Renaissance,” the fashion mavens loved it.

Simone Biles is prioritising fashion
Remember when Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens showed up in matching lilac colored outfits at the 2025 Kentucky Derby, just days before the MET? And then they made different but coordinated outfits that complemented each other very well for the MET. Well, this reveals they are keeping their fashion game in sync this year. And Simone just confessed the same.
In the same Access Hollywood interview, when Simone Biles said, “I think we’re both in our fashion eras right now, so it’s exciting to see what we’re doing and what’s to come,” speaking about herself and Owens. But when she was individually asked, “Are you in your fashion era?” her response was noteworthy. She said, “Yes, I’m trying to be as much as possible because you know gymnastics is obviously full of leos, sweats, hair tied.” Thus, when it comes to fashion in 2025, Biles says, “I’m trying, I’m really trying!” Do you think this is true?
