One of the biggest questions revolving in the gymnastics world as of now: Will Simone Biles be there in the LA 2028 Olympics? At a press conference during the Paris Olympics, Biles was asked if this was the last time we’re going to see [her] vault in competition. In response, she said that it will be her last Yurchenko double pike, the vault that won her gold, but as for the competition in general: “Never say never.” She chuckled, “The next Olympics is at home [L.A.], so you just never know. But, I am getting really old.” And now, her latest response to the same question might make things clearer.
“I haven’t decided yet, I’m still taking time off mentally and physically before I decide anything,” she said in an interview with Real Estate.
In the interview, Biles did say that she is aging like fine wine, and her pictures from her recent trips testify to that. Maybe that means there is hope that her body is going to support her as she practices for LA. Plus, she did repeat her message from the press conference.

The gymnast said, “Never say never because you truly don’t know, but I’m taking time off to reset mentally and physically and emotionally because training for an Olympic Games … it’s not just the year before, it’s the four years prior.” She is not very clear about how her health would be physically and mentally about 3 years later, when the LA Olympics start. And not to mention her last gymnastics competition was in Paris itself. She does not have any lined up for 2025 as well. So, when she steps back into the gym, it’s going to be some tough work getting the form back. That said, she did drop a glimmer of hope.

Stressing on the fact that her decision would require a lot of sacrifices and it’s not just her decision alone, she said, “If I’m not on the floor, I definitely will be in and around it, and you guys will see me in LA, but to what capacity, I’m not sure. But I’d love to be involved as much as possible.”
