[Biles] called me, and she was like, ‘Okay, I have this, this and this, but if you really want me there, I’ll be there.” Simone Biles‘ former training mate Joscelyn Roberson confessed that the minute she told Biles, ‘I kind of really want you there’, she agreed to come to the 2025 U.S. Classic. Yes, till Saturday evening, Simone Biles was in Illinois, watching the U.S. Classic from the wings. Standing near the balance beam, or sitting in the lower-level suite, she kept a low profile while she cheered for Roberson. She didn’t compete at the event herself, much like another leading lady, Jordan Chiles, who was absent too. But, just two days after their U.S. Classic no-show, both Biles and Chiles were seen heading out. Where? Well, this is for a different reason. Passports out, change of landscape, they have dropped stunning new updates!

Last year, Simone Biles won the U.S. Classic with a total score of 59.500, while Jordan Chiles claimed the all-around bronze with 55.450. This year, however, fans missed seeing both of them in action. Instead, it was the reigning U.S. junior champion Claire Pease who grabbed the title with a 54.600 ahead of Simone Rose (54.200), and Roberson in third place. But as soon as that event was done and dusted, Simone seemed to have returned to Texas. She confirmed this by adding a story from a bar and grill in Texas on Monday. But little did we know, the bigger update was about to come after that as Biles added a snap with three passports in the picture and the caption, “& we’re off….” Where is she headed and with whom?

Well, the life update is that Simone Biles is back to the beach life! Just weeks after returning from Belize, she’s now back to the moisture-rich coastal air and sandy shores. This time, she’s flown over 2000+ miles, approximately from Texas to the British Virgin Islands, as Biles pinned her location in a beautiful story of the waves crashing on the shore. The Island greeted the 11-time Olympic medalist gymnast Simone Biles with iced welcome drinks and serene views as she showed us in her back-to-back Instagram story updates. And this time, she’s giving herself a unique luxury getaway experience. Yes, adding an image of the Tanna 47 yacht, Simone Biles wrote, “home for the week 😍😍😍. But who is she with? Nope, it’s not Jonathan Owens.

Well, Simone Biles then posed pictures of the view from the yacht deck, the interiors of the sailboat, and her girl squad. That’s when we decoded that one of them was the retired volleyball player, Torrie Brown, who has a frequent presence at the Chicago Bears NFL games, to cheer for Marcedes Lewis, her husband. One can also join the dots that on June 21, last month, it was Biles who had added a story, dropping a hint about this exact vacation. She had written, “The only aisle I’m looking forward to this summer ✈️🤣”, on a reel featuring the inside of an airplane. Adding to that, Biles had even written, “me & the girls @ocinleetthatsme @torriebrown,” hinting that they were travelling soon. And well, looks like that moment has arrived!

But amid this, where is Jordan Chiles? Well, Jordan Chiles is touring the waters too! Yes, the 2x Olympian added an update right about the same time as Biles, as she showed her followers a view of open water from a moving vessel with the caption, “My life for a few days!!” She followed it up with a mirror selfie, writing, Cruise workout!!!” revealing she’s on a cruise. Well, it’s clear that both Simone Biles and Jordan Chiles are coincidentally relaxing at the same time. They are both enjoying a well-deserved break after skipping a major gymnastics event.

Although Jordan Chiles was seen on the NCAA mats earlier this year, Simone Biles has maintained a complete no-show at gymnastics events. She has been on vacation on the trot this year, from Switzerland to South Africa and many other stops, ever since, amid which, she hasn’t been spotted on the mats. And very recently, she even dropped a major update about a future gymnastics meet.

Simone Biles is out of the Xfinity Championships?

It’s nearly been a year since Simone Biles did gymnastics competitively. And as time is passing, the hopes of her getting back on the mats this year are looking quite flakey. The latest setback now is that Simone Biles doesn’t seem to be coming to the 2025 Xfinity Gymnastics Championships either.

What’s your perspective on:

Is Simone Biles' jet-setting lifestyle inspiring or just a distraction from her Olympic goals?

Have an interesting take?

Yes, she confirmed it herself. On July 19, Inside Gymnastics posted an update on Instagram that featured a small message from Simone. The G.O.A.T. was heard saying, “Proud of you girls. Good luck at Championships,” with reference to the Xfinity Champs.

While Simone Biles wished her gym mates for the next event, already at the US Classic, it became clear that she is not coming to that event. It’s quite heartbreaking for Biles’ fans. Also, it’s looking like the end of an era. Simone Biles made history at the 2023 Xfinity U.S. Gymnastics Championships, becoming the first gymnast ever to win eight U.S. all-around titles. In 2024 too, she won her ninth U.S. All-Around title by nearly 6 points (119.750) and brought her career titles to 32.

But this year, this doesn’t seem to be the case. As for Jordan Chiles, an update on her Xfinity presence is still expected. What do you think? Will she come? Or the two leading gymnasts continue with the second half of 2025 at the same pace? Share your thoughts.
