Simone Biles Makes Unusual Request to Chicago Bears Before Johnathan Owens’ Game

“I don’t know why, but others feel as though they can define your own beauty based on their standards.” Simone Biles was never really a fan of getting told about beauty standards. Prior to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics (held in 2021), she expressed her dissatisfaction with the gymnastics world competing in beauty through an interview with The Olympics. And now, it has happened once again.

Biles shared a TikTok video highlighting her outfit for her husband, Jonathan Owens’ preseason game. But that came with an unusual request from the football world. And it was all about looking ‘too hot to get.’

In her recent TikTok upload, Biles begins with, “Oh my gosh, I hope she plays Hot to Go…” But wait… This was a collaboration with the rising American TikTok creator with over 2 million followers and 88.5 million likes, Caroline Lusk. Right after the artistic gymnast made her stance ahead of the Bears game, Lusk pointed out, “Simone…this is a Bears game.” But the queen of flips is a pretty determined entity. She stood her ground and uploaded the video with the caption reading, “a girl can wish right? ❤️‍🩹🤭football will do!!!!”

So, did Simone Biles play Hot to Go at the Bears game? Yes! She donned a customized white shirt with little orange hearts fluttering in the front, and highlighting ‘OWENS’ in the middle. She also had an orange Kuei Bag with silver hardware and genuine leather, which was reported to be around $265. Of course, it was all because she wanted her accessories to match her shirt. To complete the look, Biles wore denim cut-off shorts and paired them with white high-kneed boots.

Now, coming back to Biles’ frustration with the beauty standards in gymnastics, she had some pretty decent advice for the world. She stated, “Nobody should tell you or I what beauty should or should not look like.” During a conversation with Teen Vogue, she claimed, “In the sport of gymnastics, it all depends on how good we are. But at the end of the day, it is seen as a beauty competition: who’s the cutest, who’s the prettiest.”

Nevertheless, she came to the realization that looks don’t really matter when the sport is all about one’s identity and skills.

But that doesn’t mean Simone Biles isn’t interested in getting the spotlight from the fashion and beauty industry. In fact, she is reportedly a bit inclined towards making a career in fashion. That’s probably going to be her post-retirement gig. 

Is Simone Biles really interested in making a career in fashion?

Biles has often received the spotlight from Athleta and their mesmerizing leotard designs. And during a recent talk on The Olympics Podcast, she claimed, “We’re trying to enter the fashion industry and beauty industry. Some of the things I can’t talk about, but they are in the works, and it’s gonna be really exciting. But yeah. There’s always a project to be made, even if that’s just like the post-Olympic tour, or trying to have involvement in the 2028 Olympics. So yeah, that’s kind of like what’s on the horizon.”

The star gymnast used to highlight her sense of fashion during the post-competition tours with Athleta. And most of the time, she’d be at the center of the stage, stealing all the attention, as her teammates would perform flips and bounce around in the periphery. These tours ensured that the gymnasts got to showcase their style out of the gym. And that truly got them, especially Simone Biles, pretty excited.
