My dad is the cutest, happy 75th,” wrote Simone Biles over a picture of her dad, Ronald Biles, on his 75th birthday (August 8th). The catch? This was the second time she had wished him in the same month. Once on his actual birthday, and the second time on August 24th. Needless to say, Simone has never shied away from showing the world just how much she loves her dad. So, when it’s Father’s Day, how could Simone have forgotten to wish him?

On June 15, 2025, Simone Biles took to her Instagram story to wish her dad a happy Father’s Day. Taking to her Instagram stories, she started with a picture of him holding her and her younger sister, Adria Biles, in his arms, “happy fathers day,” she wrote. The gymnast for sure went back in time to find that one out, as she looked no more than 10 in that picture. The two of them were adopted by Ronald and Nellie Biles (maternal grandparents) on November 7, 2003, when Simone was six and Adria was four. Next, she posted a picture of Ronald wearing a white shirt that read on its back, “I loved her first. 3.14.1997

3.14.1997 is Simone Biles’ birthday. Her wishes just did not end here. She uploaded a third story where Ronald had donned a dark green suit and, holding his arm around the elbow, is our gymnastics star herself, a white bouquet in one hand, dressed in a white gown. After their legal courthouse marriage on April 22, 2023, Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens celebrated with a larger, more formal ceremony on May 6, 2023, at the Nobu resort in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Ronald walked her down the aisle in this celebration.

Back in 2024 as well, Biles sent a similar wish to him on Father’s Day. She uploaded pictures to her Instagram story. One seemed to be an old photograph from her childhood, where she seemed to be pulling Ronald’s cheeks with a huge smile on her face. The other was from her wedding, where he kissed her forehead before sending her off. “Happy Fathers Day” she wrote at the bottom of the second picture.

The role of Ronald and Nellie in Simone Biles’ life

Whenever we had visits with my grandpa, I was so excited. That was the person I always wanted to see walk into the foster home,” said Simone Biles in an interview with Elle. One of the most significant acts they did was stepping in as her full-time parents in 2003, when Simone and her sister Adria were placed in foster care. From the beginning, Ronald and Nellie supported Simone’s gymnastics dreams. They immediately enrolled her in classes after a daycare field‑trip sparked her interest, and their commitment never wavered, even building the World Champions Centre gym in 2014 so she could train uninterrupted.

In multiple interviews, Simone has pointed out that they attended every competition, guided her through schooling decisions (including allowing her to homeschool for elite training), and continuously encouraged her to believe in herself. In one of the interviews, Biles also notes that, “Being separated from my biological mom, being placed in foster care before I officially got adopted by my grandparents, it just set me up for a better route at life.” And beyond all these, the couple is also good at spoiling their daughter with gifts.

Simone Biles loves handbags, and she has plenty of them. One of them comes from her grandparents. After her historic performance at the Paris 2024 Olympics, Simone Biles was gifted a luxurious Hermès Birkin bag by her parents. “My parents bought me my Hermès bag 🥰 don’t be mad at me, be mad at your parents,” she wrote in a post, accompanied by a photo of the iconic orange box.
