Just last month, when Simone Biles saddled up for a horse riding session, many fans urged her to build a career in Equestrian Vaulting. Later, the gymnast confessed that she often engages in horse riding activities “just for fun.” Now, as she builds her interest in the new sport, Biles made another visit to the stables near her $3M mansion in Spring, Texas, and shared a few updates with her equine.

On October 17, Biles shared a few glimpses of her time at the local stable, the same place where she went for a ride earlier last September. This time, the seven-time Olympic gold medalist took her Porsche Cayenne for a drive to the horse riding facility. The same car that she purchased last year, shortly after the ‘Gold over America Tour.’ As she reached the barn, she took to her Instagram stories, and posted some stills from the stalls, then shared a snap of the equine. Following this, she posted a picture of herself riding a horse with reins in her left hand.

Interestingly, it’s been two months since the gymnast started taking horse riding lessons, and ever since then, the new hobby became a recurring theme on her social media. The 28-year-old even went for a horseback riding along the ocean with her husband Jonathan Owens, shortly after the birthday.

Simone Biles’ previous horseback riding experience

The Olympic champion first gave fans a glimpse of her interest in the sport shortly after her birthday. Then, in August, she revealed that she started taking lessons. Following this, in September, she started sharing photos and clips from her frequent visits to stable. Last month, she posted images of herself learning the basics of handling a horse, spending time at the facility, and enjoying the slower pace of the experience. Needless to say, the netizens were quick to notice the stark contrast between horseback riding and the high-pressure world of elite gymnastics.

But watching her wearing a blue helmet and the classic long boots of a rider painted a whole new picture. As she shared these details in her previous Instagram Stories, she captioned, “Me and pony.” And as her horseback riding lessons continued, she shared a visual of herself on the horse back. Simone Biles used a zoomed-out angle and captioned it, “being told to flex my feet feels criminal.”

That outing marked one of the few occasions Biles has publicly shared her time around horses, but it highlighted her willingness to explore activities outside of gymnastics.
