On 11 October 2025, Regina Abramova showcased her immense stamina and completed 223 pull-ups with a flip on the horizontal bars. This impressive feat got her an entry into the Guinness Book of World Records. After all, she set the record for the most pullover repetitions on a horizontal bar performed by a child. The previous record was held by Nicole Knyazieva, a fellow Ukrainian, who completed 88 pull-ups with a flip at the age of seven, back in 2017. Abramova shattered the previous record about three times over.
Interestingly, this is actually her fourth record. Last year, Abramova held the longest body hold in a straight inverted position on rings by a child for an astonishing 5 minutes and 52 seconds. She became the youngest child to climb Mount Hoverla independently in 2 hours and 29 minutes. And finally, she performed 55 pull-ups with a flip on the bar, setting a national record as a five-year-old.

How does a chess grandmaster inspire a Regina Abramova?
On October 15, through her Instagram profile, Abramova shared her source of inspiration. She held on to a copy of ‘National Register of Records, Ukraine, 2022’ and shared all about her motivation. She stated that she has seen all episodes of ‘The World Inside Out’ and in one particular episode, where Komarov, along with Vitaliy Zorin, set another record to his name. And that episode touched her heart.
She further revealed how she successfully climbed Mount Hoverla. She penned, “The girl without three limbs from Ecuador, who climbed the Chimboraso volcano with Dmitry, became a symbol of faith and strength for me. She was the one who inspired me to conquer Hoverla on my own.”
The six-year-old gymnast reflected on the most important lesson she learned from the grandmaster. “Never give up, believe in yourself, and knock on every door, even if it seems no one will open it. He showed me that nothing is impossible if you truly want it.” And right now, she has only one dream – to meet Dimitri Komarov, hug him, and thank him for inspiring her to achieve a world record.
