“The “Pommel Horse Guy” is BACK at EVO! We’re excited to announce that two-time 2024 Olympic bronze medalist and Dancing With The Stars finalist, Stephen Nedoroscik, has renewed his contract and has officially resumed training at EVO Gymnastics!” Just when the gymnastics world was starting to wonder if Stephen Nedoroscik was done with elite competition, EVO Gymnastics dropped this surprise on social media—confirming the Olympian is back in the game. And with the Xfinity Gymnastics Championships right around the corner, the timing couldn’t be better. Stephen’s own response in the comments? Just four words:

“SO EXCITED TO REJOIN,” Stephen wrote in the comments. At 26, he’s officially on the road to the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships later this year in Jakarta. But his name missing from the Team USA lineup at the Pan American Games had fans scratching their heads and wondering if he was stepping back for good. Turns out—nope. Stephen’s back. And the good news doesn’t stop there. One of his teammates from the Paris Olympics just dropped some exciting news of their own, too.

On July 31, GK Elite made it Instagram-official—Brody Malone is now a Team GK athlete. “As one of the most resilient gymnasts, we couldn’t be more excited to see him continuing his journey for the love of the sport and welcome him to our roster of ambassadors!” the caption read. Big win for Brody. Meanwhile, Stephen’s still waiting on a title like that. No ambassador deal (yet). But you never know what could happen. That said, with two NCAA All-Around titles, a World Championship medal, and the experience of making two Olympic teams, Brody’s résumé definitely brings some extra weight to the table.

Back in March 2023, Brody Malone had a scary accident while competing in Germany. Things went sideways during his dismount—literally. As he explained on a podcast, his left hand unexpectedly slipped off the bar mid-routine, throwing off his entire trajectory. He ended up landing backward, and the impact twisted his right leg badly. The result? A brutal injury that led to three surgeries. Doctors had to repair a torn meniscus and used nine screws and two plates to fix the tibia fracture. The recovery wasn’t easy—far from it. But somehow, Brody pushed through and made his way back.

At the 2024 Winter Cup, Brody reminded everyone exactly what he’s made of. He kept his average score above 13, landing himself firmly in the conversation for the Paris Olympics. Then he crushed it again—topping the charts at the 2024 Xfinity U.S. Gymnastics Championships. Now, the next edition of the Xfinity Championships is just around the corner, set for August 7–10 at the Smoothie King Center. And guess what? There’s a surprise in store for gymnastics fans this time around.

Stephen Nedoroscik is all set to start his elite season

Both Stephen Nedoroscik and Brody Malone are officially entered into this year’s Xfinity Gymnastics Championships—and the showdown’s already heating up. But before even hitting the floor, Stephen, the Worcester native, dropped something meaningful. In a recent chat with Yahoo’s OT Diaries, he opened up about how Dancing With The Stars changed him—not just on the dance floor, but in life and gymnastics too. “I do think that it [the lesson learned from Dancing With The Stars] has definitely increased my confidence, and I’m hoping to be able to show that off [in gymnastics] on the world stage soon,” he shared. And the big takeaway?

What’s your perspective on:

Stephen Nedoroscik's comeback—will he outshine Brody Malone at the World Championships this year?

Have an interesting take?

And what is the lesson? The Clark Kent of gymnastics explained, “Being able to dance in front of millions of people, a sport that I have never done before, really raised my confidence level.” Last year, Stephen finished 31st in the all-around rankings. Brody? He topped the table. But with a fresh mindset, a return to training at EVO, and a new fire in his belly, will this year flip the script? Fans won’t have to wait long to find out.
