Team USA took on Team France in the battle of the powerhouses, with Kevin Durant and team emerging victorious. Redemption well and truly belonged to Gregg Popovich, who was humiliated by the same French side a week before. Following the success, Team USA began their celebrations in Tokyo. Two weeks of sweat and toil brought us to the USA vs France summit clash at Tokyo 2020. In their first games of the tournament, France caused the upset of the Games by conquering the Americans 83-76. Rudy Gobert and Nando de Colo starred for the European giants, outplaying the powerful defense of their opponents. In the final, however, there was no repeat of such proceedings.

Many top stars, including LeBron James, James Harden and Stephen Curry were not part of the American Olympic squad. Yet, this was no reason for the squad to slip up in their bid for the ultimate prize. Anchored by their senior stars and aided by the young prodigies, Durant and co. conquered the world again.
