Nadal rooting for Gasol and co. at Tokyo Olympics
The southpaw from Manacor has always put his country before everything else. Nadal will have been disheartened at his absence in the Olympic Games, but will continue to rile his countrymen on. And ahead of his side’s second basketball bout, Nadal wished them luck with an encouraging post of himself with the gorgeous red jersey.

In a recent Instagram post, Nadal said?“All my support to the Spanish basketball team. I’ll be following and cheering you on!!!!! Good luck!! Let’s go!!!!” Gasol, who also commented on the post, mentioned Nadal on his story, thanking him for the warm wishes. And the 35-year-old replied,?“Grande Pau. Vamosssss. [Great Pau. Let’s gooooo.]”

The patriotism is on full scale at the moment, with countries battling it out for glory at the biggest sporting festival of them all. After an impressive opening victory, Spain will face Argentina and Slovenia for a place in the knockouts. They will be relying on Ricky Rubio and the Gasol duo to see them through.
