However, just a day later, Canada’s Pamela Ware endured the exact opposite. The seasoned diver failed to qualify for the finals of the diving championship after posting a 0.0 score in the heats.

Here’s what the 28-year old said after her disappointing 0.0 effort at the Tokyo Olympic Stadium which saw her fail to qualify for the diving championship finals.
“Well, I jumped in the pool. Honestly, I think I’m still in shock right now. I’m kind of emotionless, which is really weird for me because I usually act on my emotions really quickly. But I think that if I would have done the dive, I could have possibly hurt myself,” Ware said via CBC.

Ware concluded her day with a total of 245.10. She slipped from fourth to ninth place after her penultimate attempt. But her disastrous failed dive in her final attempt meant the end of her Olympic journey in 2021. That served as a shocker considering she came in at fourth place in the preliminary round, just a day prior. Talk about bad luck, eh?

Meanwhile, fellow countrywoman Jennifer Abel will compete for a spot on the podium in the women’s three-metre springboard final at the ongoing Tokyo Olympics on Sunday.
