Olympic legend Carl Lewis disagrees to make track and field PPV

Lewis has now commented on track and field introducing the PPV after the heats and arguments between athletes. American rapper Wales posted his thoughts on Twitter.

Wales posted saying, “Me and Kazeem texting about how the 100 can really be on PPV if everybody talked, they shit track is back.” Interestingly, Lewis responded to the tweet by the rapper.

Olympic champion Lewis tweeted saying, “Calm down. Sports will always be about the competition and the stories. The smack talking just fades away soon after the event. Follow @allysonfelix and get a history leason.”

Lewis strongly discarded the idea of the PPV in track and field sport. Carl suggested the rapper to read about Allyson Felix, who has been around since the 2004 Athens Olympics.

What is PPV?

‘Pay-per-view’ is a service in which viewers pay to watch events. Sports like UFC and boxing have PPV which enables fans to watch the exclusive matches. They can even save the matches and watch them later.

However, in track and field, athletes finish their matches in seconds, whereas that is not the case for UFC fights. Olympic legend Lewis clearly doesn’t support the idea. The game of track and field is purely about the competition and inspiring journeys.

Olympian himself has been part of one of the biggest rivalries with Ben Johnson during his career. Nevertheless, Carl doesn’t want people to focus on the feuds, as they are temporary.
