There were no fans present, nor was there anyone to cheer, but that did not stop Simone Biles from delivering yet another scintillating opener at the Olympic Games. ‘The GOAT’ was heavily favored to win all gold medals in Tokyo this year and she began with a convincing performance, choosing the floor routine as an opener.

Not only did Biles warm up with the double pike, but also brought energy to the empty stands by perfuming her routine to Tokyo Drift, the soundtrack of the ‘Fast and Furious’ movie of the same name that has grown to become a cult classic.

Simone Biles is blessed with energy and she channels every bit of momentum into her moves. A gymnast is expected to be in control at all times, and that’s exactly what she has mastered. Throughout the routine, she somehow managed to keep her nerves in the air through the spins and landed elegantly on the other corner of the mat.

She did go off course for a split second when one of her run-ups resulted in her jumping off the mat itself due to the momentum, but she quickly got back on the mat and drew attention to her expertise within the boundaries.

Simone Biles lost out to Vanessa Ferrari in the scorings

Even though her performance was the highlight of the event, she fell second to Vanessa Ferrari of Italy, who received a 14.166 score as compared to Biles’ 14.133.

The two will certainly be competing for the gold in the event. Meanwhile, Biles will look to demonstrate more of her talent in the other Gymnastics events, especially the vault.
