Dujardin is the most decorated British dressage rider in history, winning gold at the Rio and London Olympics. At 35, not only does she have a long career ahead of her, she’s a pioneer in the field and a guaranteed equestrian Hall of Famer. She will compete in her third Olympic Games and will aim to win a medal in dressage for the third consecutive time.

Joining Dujardin is Carl Hester, another legend of the sport. At 53, Hester enters his fourth Olympic Games, first competing in 1992. Hester won gold in the Team Dressage event at the 2012 Olympics and bronze in Rio. In Tokyo, he will aim to clinch another medal to add to his incredible collection.

Dressage riders that could join them will be former medal winners, Fiona Bigwood, Richard Davison, Emile Faurie, Charlotte Fry, Gareth Hughes, Susan Pape and Laura Tomlinson.

Eventing Squad heading to Tokyo

The eventing squad‘s star player is Rosalind Canter, the 2018 Equestrian World Champion. In her decade long career, she’s clinched medals in the European Championships and the World Championships. Joining her as the co-star player of the team is Oliver Townend.

Townend, like Canter, hasn’t competed in the Olympic Games before. It is a shocker, especially since he’s been the European Champion in 2007, 2009 and 2017. All eyes will be on Canter and him in Tokyo as they attempt to return Great Britain to their previous fame at eventing.

Other nominations who could travel with them are Laura Collett, William Fox-Pitt, Kitty King, Peggy March, Tom McEwen, Harry Meade and Nicola Wilson.
