Usain Bolt has been away from the track for far too long and fans are starting to question if the Jamaican has let go of his form completely. The eight-time Olympic gold medalist ran an 800m race earlier this month as part of a promotion. And even though he did not even hit the burners, Bolt was exhausted at the end.

Coming off this experience, he seems to be taking his fitness far more seriously than he did a few months ago. Realizing his body is far from the shape it used to be in 2017, the Olympic legend is ready to get back to his best. He claims he wants to “feel better” in his body again.

“I don’t do a lot of track workouts these days,” Bolt admitted, speaking to GQ. “But I was going through my phone recently, and I saw the pictures of me back in the day—like when I was working out really hard.”

“My goal is to get back to that level or at least close to it by August 21, my birthday. It does feel good just to get out and run,” he said.

Bolt has been training to get into shape and his partnership with Peloton has only made him more focused. “This collaboration is an opportunity for me to show people what I’m really doing now,” he said. “I’m at a point in my life where I just want to be in shape. Do some core and strength work. Get on my bike from time to time. I do a mixture of everything, which is what we all need to be strong.”

Although many would like to see a dramatic comeback, Usain Bolt has made it clear that he does not plan to return to track and field. Though he will occasionally train on the tracks to stay fit, he does not plan on running professionally again.

“I Live for the Energy”- Usain Bolt Admits He Would Not Be as Fast Without Fan Support at the Olympics

After retiring in 2017 following a hamstring injury, Bolt admitted to considering a comeback. However, his coach advised him against it because of the intense training he would have to go through to get back into form. The Jamaican, who is instead trying his hand in Music production, will aim at making that endeavor work out, along with his fitness efforts of course.
