USA Olympic Star Noah Lyles Named as ‘Grand Marshal’ for Coke Zero Sugar 400

Noah Lyles had a successful campaign at the Tokyo Olympics in 2020. Lyles clinched the bronze medal at the mega-event in the men’s 200m race.

Noah was one of the favorite American athletes at the Tokyo games. Now, Lyles has been given the honor to be the Grand Marshal at the Coke Zero Sugar 400 championship. Noah is also a Coco-Cola 6 Pack athlete.

The Coke Zero Sugar 400 is the final race for NASCAR drivers to mark their place at the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs at the Daytona International Speedway.

Interestingly, only one spot is left out of the 16 places at the NASCAR playoff event. 15 drivers will race at their highest speeds to make it to the series playoffs.

Track and field star loves to chase the time and run at his best speed. Being a part of the car race is thrilling for the Olympic champion. Noah will give the famous “Drivers Start Your Engines” command at the event.

President and Chief Operating Officer of Darden Restaurants, Rick Cardenas will be the race’s Honorary Starter and high atop the flag stand. Rick will waive the green flag at the race.

The Olympic bronze medalist is part of the Coco-Cola 6 Pack Athletes

The Coco-Cola brand selected a diverse group of US athletes under their 6 pack campaign for Tokyo Olympics 2020. Five Olympic champions were Caeleb Dressel, Laurie Hernandez, Alex Morgan, Simone Manuel, Noah Lyles.

While the Paralympian Roderick Townsend from track and field was the sixth member. Notably, all six of them have proved their dominance in their individual sports at the Olympic games over the years.

Whereas, Caeleb Dressel won the Tokyo Olympics medal tally. Dressel had a record-breaking performance as he broke Olympic and world records. Subsequently, he clinched 5 gold medals at the mega-event.

Coco-Cola has featured US athletes for the seventh time for their Olympic marketing campaign. The journey started in 1928 as a transport had arrived carrying American athletes and 1000 cases of Coco-Cola.

Coco-Cola also has an incredible relationship with the International Olympic Committee. As they are the longest continuous sponsor of Olympic games and have already extended their partnership for 12 years.

It will be interesting to watch the crossover of the sprinter with speed racing. Olympic champion, Noah will surely enjoy commanding the race against time.
