Needless to say, the hurdler’s timing of 46.17 seconds was impressive enough., The timing would have won him the race on another day, and it was something that looked like it was from the 400m race without hurdles.

This performance convened a lot of viewers about Benjamin’s potential. So much so that 110m hurdles star Grant Holloway claimed he could do the same in the 200m race. In a recent tweet, the Olympic silver medallist made his hot take public.

The Nike Prefontaine Classic 2021 is set to be the next major track and field event after the Olympics. May of the American medallists will be taking part along with stars from other nations. Rai Benjamin himself will be competing in the 400m hurdles race. Although he has not tried his hand in the 200m race, there’s no telling what could happen.

Rai Benjamin will be aiming for gold along with Noah Lyles

Fred Kerley changed disciplines from 400m to 100m and won silver at the Tokyo Games, so Rai Benjamin can possibly do the same. On the topic of the 200m race, one man will come to redeem lost reputation- Noah Lyles.

The American was the favorite heading into the 200m event in Tokyo, having registered the fastest timing this year. However, he found himself struggling to find his speed. In the finals, Lyles came third, losing out to Canada’s Andre de Grasse (Gold), and fellow American Kenny Bednarek (Silver).
