

Tokyo Olympics 2020 was a tough ride for athletes due to the Covid-restrictions and having to stay away from their families. Allyson Felix gave birth to her daughter in 2018, and it was her first Olympic games after becoming a mother.

Felix did what was expected of her, she reached the podium and raised the American flag. The Olympic legend Allyson has been competing in the track and field events since Athens Olympics in 2004.
While athletes put in their 100% to reach the Olympics and win, it is not possible without the support of family. Hence, it’s important to recognize the role that the their families play in athletes becoming the best versions of themselves.

Allyson Felix talks about the sacrifices made by her family
Allyson has been the face of track and field for decades now. In 2018, she gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. However, that did not stop Felix from competing in her record-breaking fifth Olympics.
Allyson Felix’s daughter supported her at the Olympic trials before the mega event. Running in front of her daughter was a surreal feeling for Felix. She even shared a moment with her daughter on the track.

Unfortunately, because of the pandemic, her friends and family could not travel to Tokyo. It was the longest time Felix had ever been apart from her two-year-old daughter.

Allyson is currently competing at the Diamonds league meet. At the press conference of the event, Felix expressed about the support she has received from her family. She even talked about the feeling of reuniting with family and her daughter.

Olympic legend has embraced her motherhood
At 35, Felix became the most decorated American track and field athlete. She clinched her record-breaking 11th Olympic medal. Being a mother has not slowed her down, but increased Felix’s spirit to win.

In 2018, Allyson had to go through an emergency C-section surgery. Her daughter Camryn came to the world when Felix was just 32 weeks pregnant.

Unfortunately, Tokyo Olympics 2020 was her last appearance at the Summer Olympics. Notably, Felix ran her last race, leaving her mark on the sport, forever.
