“The Haters Were So Upset”- USA Ace Gymnast Simone Biles Reveals the Story Behind Her GOAT Emblem
Simone Biles has been the talk of the entire week as we head into the Tokyo Olympics. The American gymnast has her eyes on the prize and while many dream of winning a single medal and hope for gold, Biles wants all the gold.
In the Rio Games in 2016, she won gold in all events but one, the balance beam, where a loss in footing cost her the victory. She ended up winning bronze in that event which was the only odd one out in a collection of golds.
Now, at the age of 24, she aims to better her own record with a clean sweep. Popularly regarded as the best in the world, Simone Biles gained significant attention for her G.O.A.T emblem which she wears on her apparel.

Indicating that she is the greatest of all time, it has become an iconic part of her personality. Twitter recently announced the release of a special GOAT emoji which will be fixed to her tag. She hence became the first Olympic athlete this year to achieve this as well as the only female athlete in history.
“I don’t think of myself as the G.O.A.T. and that’s not why I wear the goat on my leo (tard). It was kind of a joke in the beginning,” she revealed, speaking to PEOPLE. “I wore one in 2019 and it was just funny because the haters were so upset.”

Simone Biles joked that the goat has become a part of her kit thanks to the fan reaction to it and will contour to sport in throughout the Tokyo Games.
“What we did is to kind of tick them off even more. So I was happy because it’s like good, now you guys are annoyed because you’re annoying me,” she said.
