Interestingly, Canadian diver, Jennifer Abel, had a surprise waiting for her at the airport. Tokyo Olympics medalist got a surprise marriage proposal from her boyfriend at the airport.

Silver medal and a diamond ring for Tokyo Olympics 2020 medalist

Jennifer Abel competed in the three-meter synchro springboard event in Tokyo. Notably, Abel bettered her London Olympics 2012 bronze medal by clinching the silver medal at the mega-quadrennial event.

However, one more prestigious item was waiting for Abel back home. As she returned to Montreal her boyfriend surprised the 29-year-old. Pro boxer David Lemieux popped up the question he had been waiting to ask.

Abel said yes to the emotional proposal as she broke down in tears of happiness. Evidently, the Olympic medalist was in? awe of the grand gesture by her boyfriend. Here is the heart-touching video.

Jennifer makes social media announcement

Jennifer posted about the joyful news on her Instagram. She even expressed her excitement to start a new chapter after securing her second Olympic medal.

Abel posted with the caption, ” I said YES to my soulmate. ” Jennifer’s fiance also announced the big news on his social media. David posted with the caption,

” Proud to call you my woman, what better way to seal the deal then with a (ring emoji). “

David is a tremendous supporter of his to-be wife and has been following her performances. He waited patiently for her Olympic mission to end and then asked the big question, making the year more special for her.

Argentinian fencer got a dramatic proposal at Tokyo

While Abel got a proposal, post the mega-event, one happened at the games. Argentina’s fencer Maria Belen Perez Maurice got a dramatic proposal from her boyfriend for 17 years.

The boyfriend Lucas Guillermo Saucedo is also her coach. Unfortunately, Maria had heartbreak in her Tokyo Olympics event and couldn’t clinch medals. Albeit, her boyfriend cheered her up with a surprise question.

While Maria was doing a post-match interview, Lucas flashed a message for her on a paper. The message said, “Will you marry me? Please.” The video was aired live as Maria said yes.

After struggling and waiting for Tokyo Olympics 2020 athletes have finally lived their Olympic dreams. Jennifer and Maria must be on Cloud 9 as they start a new chapter of life post-Tokyo Olympics.
