“So this is what happened today. Hit an official that wanted to cross the 2nd straight. Hope the official is O.K. My knee is sore, but will do my best to be ready for Thursday! Thanks everyone for the messages, appreciate it!” Kimmann’s caption read on Instagram.
The men’s BMX event will start on Thursday at the Ariake Urban Sports Park. Earlier during the day, fellow Dutch countryman Mathieu van der Poel fell during the men’s cross-country mountain biking event. He was later hospitalized with an injured hip, which might require further treatment.
