

USWNT star Rose Lavelle is one of the prominent superstars of the team. She currently plays for OL Reign. However, it was not so long ago Lavelle was a Manchester City player. She joined the blue side of Manchester along with her international teammate Sam Mewis at the start of the 2020-21 season.
Manchester City competes in the FA WSL. Lavelle, despite being a star footballer, struggled to get game time during her stint in England. Whereas her teammate Mewis was a regular presence on the team.
Mewis managed to score 13 goals for a Manchester City team that finished second in the WSL, two points behind the winner Chelsea. They also won the FA Cup and made it to the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

Lavelle, on the other hand, made only three starts for City. She managed to score five goals for the club. Lack of game time meant Lavelle wasn’t satisfied with how her career was progressing.
She wanted to make sure that she remains an integral part of the United States Women’s Football Team. So, she decided to make a comeback to the US and join OL Reign.
“I just wanted to say how excited I am for this next chapter of my career with this team,” said Lavelle. “I am really looking forward to getting to Tacoma and being a part of what they are building there. I think it is going to be such a fun and exciting season ahead. I can’t wait to be a part of it with OL Reign,”?she added.

She is a part of the USWNT team that has traveled to Tokyo for the 2020 Summer Olympics. The midfielder will look to guide the team to Olympics gold there.
Can Rose Lavelle help USWNT to Olympic glory?
Apart from Lavelle, there are many notable stars that are part of the USWNT. The likes of Megan Rapinoe, Alex Morgan, Carli Lloyd, Sam Mewis, and more will be part of the US contingent as they look to clinch their fifth gold medal. The team is currently unbeaten in 44 games. Also, they are on a 6-match winning streak at the moment.

Lavelle will certainly play a pivotal role for the side with her presence on the midfield. Whether she can make an impact for the side to be triumphant in the Tokyo Olympics, remains to be seen.
