The world supported Simone Biles as she withdrew from most of the Gymnastics events at the Tokyo Olympics, citing mental health concerns as the main reason. The gold medal favourite decided to put her safety above everything else and took the heartbreaking decision to step down from the team and most individual events at the competition.

While many lauded her strength to do so, former WWE Raw Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair found another way to address Biles’ situation. On the latest episode of Monday Night Raw, ‘The Queen’ highlighted this aspect of the Games and compared her situation with that of Biles’.

“A few days ago, I woke up to a headline that read ‘Simone Biles withdraws from the Olympic Games’,” Flair said. “And I couldn’t help but take a second and think to myself, ‘Why would the greatest gymnast of all time not wanna go for the gold anymore?’ And later, I discovered that it was for mental health concerns and the more I learned that, the more I couldn’t help but empathize with her.”

Charlotte Flair was furious about losing her Championship

Charlotte was far from actually expressing her concern for Biles, rather than making it about herself as is her heel character. The Superstar claimed that like Biles, she woke up and almost had a nervous breakdown after losing the Championship to Nikki Cross.

Nikki Cross won the Money in the Bank contract this year, which meant that she had the power to cash it in on any Champion at any time in the ring. Cross (now known as Nikki A.S.H.), did not wait and cashed in her briefcase just a night later against Flair after the latter successfully defended her Raw Women’s Championship against Rhea Ripley.

Nikki A.S.H. managed to pin ‘The Queen’ to become the new Champion. Recalling this shameful moment, Flair insisted that she had a rematch. Having being cashed on for the third time in her career, she had grown sick of ‘unfairly’ losing a hard-won title.

Later in the night, Charlotte Flair lost fair and square to Nikki, who managed to pin her after a lengthy No Holds Barred match. It will surely be more restless nights for Flair, who has surely now seen the last of her Raw Women’s Championship.
