Harting is quite active on Twitter where he constantly posts updates about his events and everything. The Alabama native recently posted a tweet about an incident that he encountered with a couple during his flight to Hawaii.

“So on my flight to Hawaii, a newly married couple sitting next to me noticed my Olympic Team Handbook when filling out declaration forms, asked if I was going to the Games, I said yes… and the husband thanked me for my hard work and for representing the US,” Harting wrote.

With the emojis that he’s added, one can assume that Harting was absolutely floored by the gesture. A little appreciation goes a long way, and for a first-time Olympian like Harting, it is bound to lift up his spirits!

Zach Harting will compete in the 200m butterfly, a signature event of Michael Phelps. Harting won the 200m fly at the Olympic trials and punched his ticket to Tokyo. Just like Phelps, Harting has made this his signature event.

However, he’d have massive shoes to fill as Michael Phelps utterly dominated this event whenever he took part. Phelps won 10 major international gold medals in this event.
