“When my sister—who’s five years older—went to college, I was entering high school and started using anything she had left behind at the house. I wanted to learn how to use her skin care products and see if it works for me.” Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone once shared in an interview. The Olympic gold medalist sneaked Neutrogena’s Pink Grapefruit acne scrub from her sister, thinking that if she’s using it, then it must work. Maybe she liked it so much because she shook hands with the brand in 2023, a grip so tight that it is still holding. Now, their latest reel has the internet talking.
Sydney’s best ritual before a race is to practice, relax, and if it’s a sunny day, use sunscreen. “#NeutrogenaPartner Stretch. Focus. Protect. My pre-run ritual isn’t complete without @neutrogena Sport Face — because sunscreen shouldn’t slow you down. It locks in protection through sweat and movement, so you can chase the sun, not run from it.” The Olympian captioned her Instagram post on August 25. And fans?
“SYDNEY I LOVE YOUUU,” one reacted.

The track and field athlete could be seen speaking in the reel. “Prepping your body for what’s ahead is so important as an athlete, especially when you’re competing at a high level. Whether that’s stretching, nutrition, or hydration, it’s crucial to make sure you’re prepped for what’s ahead, and it’s the same thing with your face.” This seemed to align very much with her skincare routine: Taking care of your skin before problems arise. What is her go-to?
“That’s why I love Neutrogena SunSport FaceUps 70 SPF. Stays on through sweat and water. It’s important to make sure your skin and face is just as prepped as your body is going to be when you’re doing what you have to do while out in the sun,” she clarified. But this is not the first time Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone has discussed Neutrogena’s sunscreen…

In an interview with Elle, she said that Neutrogena’s Ultra Sheer Sunscreen was the one she keeps on her at all times, on and off the field. Now, maybe she has updated her type. But regardless of that, this brand collab has left the track and field community divided. Why? Definitely not because she is promoting a brand!
It’s rather that people don’t know what to appreciate more, the collab or the hair she has.

Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone leaves fans divided
It’s no secret that the 400mH world record holder has one of the best and unique hairstyles in track and field as of now. So, seeing her in the reel, one fan commented, “I love her hair,” and one even asked, “Nice hair is it real ?” Donning a long-sleeve fitted white top and black athletic leggings, Sydney has styled her hair like always – naturally curly, voluminous, and free-flowing. And this is not the first time she has had people in awe of her hair.
Fellow gold medalist Athing Mu, watching Sydney’s glamorous Grand Slam Track (GST) photoshoot, celebrated her curls with a two‐word reaction: “curls: ✨poppin✨”. Now, while her hair brings attention to some, many fans are also in awe of the ad.

One reacted, “Queen’s cream!!!!! Also speed resistant”. Neutrogena’s sunscreen is both water-resistant and sweat-resistant, typically lasting up to 80 minutes during swimming or sweating. Sydney runs as fast and sweats as much. But the sunscreen ain’t coming off this time.
Moreover, if somebody as fast as Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone is using it, it has to be speed-resistant. And let’s not forget she is testing new waters. So, a water-resistant sunscreen is the best she can get.

Now, talking of the reel, another fan added, “😃 This promotion would be even better while you’re running 🏃🏽♀️☀️ 🫶🏼” Fans love to see her run, and it would be authentic and powerful if Sydney were running outdoors in the sun, showing the sunscreen holding up through sweat.
So, while fans are adoring her hair and the promotion, to some extent, too, we are sure they cannot wait to see her at the Worlds stage. At least, we cannot! Can you?
