Picture this: It’s July 18, 2022, the Hayward Field is packed as fans have returned to stadiums two years after the COVID-19 pandemic, and Noah Lyles just opened the World Championships 2022 night with his signature race, the 200m….on his 25th birthday. As he crossed the finish line in 19.98 seconds, he looked over his shoulder on the right, saw no one, and gave a playful wag of the finger to the six runners behind him. Even if it was just a Heat win, it probably made his 25th birthday night one to remember! And this year…
Well, this year, Noah Lyles is spending his birthday on the track again, but this time, it’s just training. The reigning Olympic 100m champ is gearing up for a big season debut in the 100m at the London Diamond League tomorrow, July 19, just a day after his birthday. But before he steps onto the track, his fiancée and fans are already flooding him with birthday love. Here’s how they’re celebrating the sprint king…
On July 17, 2025, Junelle Bromfield, Noah Lyles’ fiancée, took to her Instagram and, with a few hours to go before his birthday, she reposted Lyles’ pictures from a training session he added to his feed. With that, she wrote, “Birthday soooooooooon 🎉🎉🎉😍😍😍” as she started the hourly countdown to his special day. And well, just 3 hours after that, as Noah Lyles turned 28, she added a beautiful video compilation of their BTS moments from shoots, their proposal night, and some hand-in-hand meet appearances. She even captioned her midnight wish with an adorably sweet caption, “It’s my baby birthdayyyyyyyyyyyyy❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️.”

The digital clock on Junelle’s birthday story read 12:11 AM, as she humourously clarified, “In London😂😂” Well, obviously, the couple seems to be in London right now, and with London being five hours ahead of U.S. Eastern time, Bromfield was clearly bringing in Noah’s birthday early this year, as she followed the local time. But she wasn’t alone. Underneath Noah Lyles’ recent post, many other fans and well-wishers chimed in with lovely greetings of their own. One wrote, “Today is July 18, London time 0: 28, I wish you a happy 28th birthday! Noah Lyles🎂🎂🎂” While another got straight to business, “I’m sure Noah Lyles will break his own 100m record. Watch and see!!”

Well, what happens on the track tomorrow is yet to be seen, as Lyles faces seasoned sprinters like Akani Simbine, Ackeem Blake, Letsile Tebogo, and others. But for now, Noah Lyles might be in his birthday mood, which this year, seems a bit more serious and focused as per his pre-race birthday post. Continuing the black and white thread on his feed, he silently added a post with no caption, no color. Just background music. But each year, he has a different way of celebrating.
In 2022, he was at the World Championships, where he said, “I’ve been able to come out here and, I feel like, be the most `me’ I’ve been in years.” Right after that, he made a bold statement on X, opening up on the struggles in his life as a black man and saying, “So when I say glad I made it to 25, I mean it!!!” In 2023, Noah Lyles went on to get a London Diamond League gold just 4 days after his birthday. Whereas in 2024, he showed gratitude. In an Instagram post, he wrote, “27 years around the sun and I don’t take any of those days for granted. BLESSED AND HIGHLY FAVORED!” But this time, here’s what his fans are reminding him.

Noah Lyles’ fans rally behind him
One of Noah Lyles’ fans said, “Noah’s Brolic. I’m scared for the competition!” Well, after what Noah Lyles pulled off not long ago at the Monaco Diamond League, he certainly looks in a form that might intimidate many. In just his debut 200m race of the season, he clocked 19.88 seconds to beat the 200m world lead, Letsile Tebogo. If he repeats the same at London, it’s natural that his competitors might be getting the jitters.
In the same sentiment, another fan said, “He looks like his in that mode rn. Time looking scary 🤩” Well, it’ll be after eleven months that Noah Lyles will be returning to the 100m track. The last time he ran one, he became the Olympic champion in that distance. But it looks like in 2025, he is coming in more aggressively. He recently deleted his entire Instagram profile, removing all posts, just keeping core athletics-related snippets, either from training or recovery. Looks like he is focused, locked in, and all ready to shine.
