Sha’Carri Richardson may not be lacing up for the starting blocks this time. But, she’ll grace the sidelines to cheer for all women athletes at the much-anticipated Athlos 2025 in New York. More so, as one of the advisor-owners of the only-women athletics meet founded by Alexis Ohanian, Richardson has also promised to interact with the fans during a special session. 

Richardson took to Instagram and raised the hype around her appearance at the Athlos 2025. She shared a poster featuring herself and announced the meet and greet session at the Icahn Stadium in New York on October 10, 2025. The Olympian invited the track and field fans to arrive early in line at the Fan Zone Plaza, from 5:45 to 6:15 PM ET. Needless to say, this stance will certainly help in building the event’s energy and connection to the audience.

In the caption, Sha’Carri Richardson further raised the entropy and wrote, “Although I’m not running, I’m definitely showing up for our track fans! I’ll meet you at the Fan Zone Plaza for what will be an epic night of women dominating the track! See you there!”

Interestingly, the 25-year-old will not only arrive at Randalls Island as a sprinter, but she’ll also be representing the vision of Athlos as its advisor-owner.

Earlier in May 2025, Ohanian claimed that Richardson, along with Gabby Thomas and Tara Davis-Woodhall, are representing a new generation of athletes. They are carrying the sport on their shoulders, and according to Ohanian, they need to be compensated for that. He announced, “We were focused on bringing them into the league as founding owners to ensure we’re building a League that our athletes will love.” 

Davis-Woodhall also believes that the three of them have enough power in their voice to bring major changes in areas away from the track. They aim at acquiring more sponsorships, more track meets, and simply more visibility. Paired with Athlos’ goal to promote women in sports, this was indeed a power move. And, Sha’Carri Richardson is leading from forefront with her compatriots. 

Sha’Carri Richardson reveals the reason that reeled her into Athlos’ new role

Alexis Ohanian has often praised Richardson for the grit, perseverance, and attitude that she brings to the track. Similarly, the Olympic gold medalist also held the Reddit co-founder on a high pedestal for putting the spotlight on women in sports. In August 2025, after she accepted her new role as an adviser-owner to the league, she felt like it was a true investment in Athlos. She claimed that the officials simply want the best while supporting women’s sports. She said, “They just want us to be the best that we can be.”

Sha’Carri Richardson praised Ohanian and added, “He’s just a man that truly believes and put his money where his mouth is, honestly.” The respect for the founder of the Athlos league, and her pride in her stance as a strong athlete pulled her closer to accepting the role of a mentor. 

In a conversation with ESPN, Richardson confessed, “I take pride in doing what is right for people. Joining ATHLOS as an advisor-owner gives me the opportunity to create something that genuinely empowers people both on and off the track.” That vision, as she describes it, is what Athlos is meant to fulfill. Alongside fellow Olympians Gabby Thomas and Tara Davis-Woodhall, Richardson is not merely signing on as a face of the brand. She is helping design the foundation of a new model for track and field, one that prioritizes athlete leadership and sustained investment.
