Taking to her Instagram Story, Davis-Woodhall shared a picture of herself alongside her husband in front of a spot called Village Pizzeria, in Colorado, California. Both of them seemed to be laughing about something, giving a joyous vibe to the picture. And the caption of the story read, “Only some will understand this.” Well, to understand that, we’d need to go back to 2024 and look at a thread from her husband.
Back in August 2024, Hunter Woodhall replied to a thread prompting the netizens to talk about their “great first dates.” And as expected, Woodhall responded to that with Davis-Woodhall in mind. All about the relationship between Tara Davis-Woodhall and Hunter Woodhall
Davis-Woodhall and her Paralympian husband’s story began in 2017. The couple met at a high school track meet in Idaho, where an instant spark changed the course of their lives. The long jumper once told ‘Town & Country’, “I stepped onto the track and said, ‘I don’t know why I have to do this, but I have to give you a hug.’” And that was the moment that marked their first conversation ever.
Their journey, however, was far from easy. The couple faced years of long-distance strain while juggling separate collegiate careers — Tara Davis-Woodhall at Texas and Hunter Woodhall at Arkansas. Balancing Olympic dreams, travel, and media attention tested their patience and resilience. “After being long distance for 4 years in different colleges, we just prayed and wished and begged that we could live together,” Davis-Woodhall revealed during her appearance on a Stagwell show.

Through the challenges, their bond only grew stronger. Married in 2023, the duo became symbols of unity and perseverance within track and field. The Olympic long jump winner claimed that the Paralympic star is her greatest supporter right after the couple won their gold medals at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Of course, their story continues to inspire people. And it’s proof that when love is grounded in respect and shared purpose, it can thrive under the biggest troubles. That’s true even if the first dates have burnt pizzas on the list.
