Who is Kyle Clemons?

Kyle Clemons is the husband of an eleven-time All-American, Christina Clemons, but his identity is way beyond that. If you’re into track and field, Kyle Clemons is a name worth knowing. Born in Jonesboro, Arkansas, and raised in Rowlett, Texas, Kyle’s journey from a high school standout to an Olympic gold medalist is nothing short of inspiring. At the University of Kansas, he broke both indoor and outdoor 400m school records and clinched two Big 12 titles.

Off the track, Kyle and his wife, Christina Clemons—a world-class hurdler—share a passion for food. Together, they launched Gold Medal BBQ Co., a food truck inspired by Kyle’s Texas roots. Whether he’s sprinting on the track or smoking meats, Kyle brings dedication and heart to everything he does.

What is Kyle Clemons’s profession?

His big break came in 2014 when he won the U.S. Indoor 400m title, leading to a bronze in the individual 400m and a gold in the 4x400m relay at the World Indoor Championships. Then, at the 2016 Rio Olympics, Kyle ran a crucial semifinal leg in the 4x400m relay, helping Team USA secure gold.

Kyle Clemons is a professional track and field athlete specializing in the 400-meter dash. He gained prominence by winning the 2014 USA Indoor Track and Field Championships and securing a bronze medal at the 2014 IAAF World Indoor Championships. His most notable achievement came at the 2016 Rio Olympics, where he contributed to the U.S. 4x400m relay team’s gold medal performance.

Beyond his athletic career, Clemons has ventured into entrepreneurship. Together with his wife, Christina Clemons, also a professional track and field athlete, they co-own Gold Medal BBQ Co., a food truck business inspired by Kyle’s Texas roots. This endeavor showcases their shared passion for food and community engagement.

In addition to his business pursuits, Kyle is furthering his education. He is currently a Doctor of Chiropractic student at Parker University, demonstrating his commitment to health and wellness beyond the track. He will graduate in 2026, and when asked on a podcast on Parker University’s YouTube channel when and why he decided to take up this career, he said, “In 2017, um, a year after the Olympics, I started thinking, ‘What am I going to do with my life? What’s next for me as I get older’?” Kyle shared thoughtfully. “So I started digging into the things I really enjoyed—the things that genuinely lit me up, like a Christmas tree. And one of those things was chiropractic care.”

He went on, “I actually told another chiropractor about it—Dr. Josh Glass, who’s a team doctor for USA Track & Field, and he said, ‘Hey, I’m not sure if you know this, but since you’re an Olympic medalist, there are programs that can probably sponsor your schooling.’ And I was like, ‘Really?’”

So, sometimes it seems like it’s all destiny; one day you are an Olympian, and the next a student of chiropractic. While the professional goals and achievements are endless, one question that looms is, how did the Olympian couple meet?

When did Christina Clemons and Kyle Clemons start dating?

Christina Clemons and Kyle Clemons’ love story began back in 2016—a year that was career-defining for both. Kyle had just helped Team USA win gold in the 4×400-meter relay at the Rio Olympics, while Christina was working hard to recover from a devastating Achilles injury. It was a time of triumph for him and transition for her, but somehow, their paths aligned perfectly.

They began out of mutual respect for each other’s athletic paths but developed into something more. With both working in the world of track and field, there was an obvious connection. Kyle loved Christina for both her on-track and off-track character. “She is an aggressive athlete. That’s the best way to put it,” Kyle told Runner’s World. “Every time she hits the track, she just gets after it.”

And he didn’t just fall for her athleticism—he loved her style, too. “Christina has her own style. Going to practice consists of her looking in the mirror, putting on lipstick, and finding some nice earrings to match her uniform. That’s just who she is,” he added, with clear admiration.

By 2018, that connection had evolved into marriage, cementing not just a personal partnership but a powerhouse track-and-field duo. From recovery to victories, lipstick to lane drills, Christina and Kyle have built a relationship rooted in shared passion, respect, and the drive to push each other forward—on the track and in life.
