“Bad boys, bad boys, Whatcha gonna do? Whatcha gonna do when they come for you?” Social media has been buzzing with this song by Inner Circle, and netizens can’t get enough of it. And now, it is a part of the trending couple reels, in which at the beginning of the song, the female significant other takes off, and towards the end, their partner follows suit to chase them. Guess who hopped onto this trend? Kenny Bednarek.

Yes, ahead of the Silesia Diamond League, Kenny Bednarek participated in a rather unusual sprint. It was more fun and filled with love. Bednarek was seen taking on a sprint challenge with his golfer girlfriend, Sharmila Nicollet. And so the couple did a “Pro Golfer vs Pro Sprinter Edition” of this Foot Pursuit Challenge.

In the video posted on his official X handle, the Olympian could be seen warming up his legs while Sharmila takes off running a considerable distance. Now, for a normal person? They would have to jolt, explode out of their position to cover that distance, but this is the sprinter who made 9.79 in the 100m look easy. He started jogging towards his girlfriend and within 13 seconds, he had caught her. But in the end, it was not that easy, though.

After the challenge, Kenny stood by Sharmila’s side and confessed, “I gotta lie, definitely underestimated this so sick. But at the end of the day the I caught her.” But the victory did not come to him so early because Sharmila was quick to correct him, saying, “Off with your line.” In track terms, off your line means drifting away from the straight lane or path you’re supposed to hold.

In the video, Sharmila ran straight while Kenny took a different angle, approaching from her left side instead of staying directly in line behind her. Putting a tough challenge for one of the world’s fastest men! That’s something we cannot get over.

Now, while this was a fun race, a much serious one awaits him.

Kenny Bednarek to face Noah Lyles and Kishane Thompson

The men’s 100m at the 2025 Diamond League meeting in Silesia (Poland) is set to be a thrilling showdown featuring Noah Lyles, Kenny Bednarek, and Jamaican rising star Kishane Thompson. He has been in exceptional form, clocking a world-leading time of 9.75 seconds at the Jamaican Championships, making him the fastest man not just of this year, but also of the past 10 years.

Kenny Bednarek has also been impressive, setting a personal best of 9.79 seconds at the 2025 USATF Outdoor Championships, tying him with Maurice Greene and Noah Lyles as the sixth-fastest American in history.

And Noah Lyles, the 2024 Olympic 100m gold medalist, has yet to dip under the 10-second mark this season. His fastest time so far is 10.00 seconds, achieved at the London Diamond League on July 19, 2025, where he finished second behind Jamaica’s Oblique Seville. Despite this, Lyles cannot be counted out because he loves playing against the odds.

Akani Simbine, Chrsitai Coleman, and Trayvon Bromell are also going to be there. With most of these sprinters in peak condition, their clash in Silesia promises to be one hell of a fast race. And amidst them, Kishane is a fan-favorite. Is your pick the same, too?
