#1 Chorfah Tor.Sangtiennoi vs. Petsukumvit Boi Bangna

Headlining the bill will be a flyweight Muay Thai affair between two striking dynamos, Chorfah Tor.Sangtiennoi and Petsukumvit Boi Bangna. Chorfah, who participated in two Rajadamnern Stadium Fight of the Year against Rodtang Jitmuangnon and Petchdam, will be seeking redemption.

After falling short in his debut to Tagir Khalilov in December last year, the all-action striker is on the prowl to make things right. Petsukumvit, however, excels against fighters who love to make things dirty, meaning that this fight could very well be an instant classic.

#2 Rungrawee Sitsongpeenong vs Mustafa Al Tekreeti

On paper, ONE Friday Fights 3 is set to thrill the world with fast-paced striking action. And two athletes who will bring that exact style to the ring are Rungrawee “Legatron” Sitsongpeenong and Mustafa Al Tekreeti.

Rungrawee has earned more than 150 career victories with his aggressive game, earning knockouts and important wins over the best strikers in Thailand. But Al Tekreeti’s similar style and 6-foot-2 frame could make life difficult for the Thai striker.

Both men love to stalk their rivals with combinations and surgical precision through their kicks. So fans can expect a barnburner contest between the two this week.

#3 Shannon Wiratchai vs Poriya Golpour

Thailand’s MMA star Shannon “OneShin” Wiratchai returns into action against Poriya Golpour in a featherweight MMA bout earlier in the night. The 34-year-old hasn’t featured since his split decision win over Fabio Pinca in July 2022. But after the time off to recharge and reset, the Bangkok-based fighter is eager to post a run of victories to place him in the upper echelons of the division.

On the flip side, Golpour makes his promotional debut, eager to put his wrestling skills to the test against a judoka of Wiratchai’s caliber.

With high-level grappling almost a given, this bout could end with a slick submission finish, setting up fans for another potential night of highlight-reel moments.

The coveted scrap between Lennox Lewis and Mike Tyson in 2002 was when I realized the passion for combat sports within my family. My interest in combat sports began watching scripted pro wrestling shows. It was my father who directed me towards combat sports and it wasn’t until the late 2010s that I discovered the world of MMA and the UFC. Like many of you, I too, tuned in for the infamous Nurmagomedov vs. McGregor bout live on October 6, 2018. Being an ardent fan of the UFC (and Dustin ‘The Diamond’ Poirier), I was always looking to have conversations about the same with others. But to my disappointment, I hardly found any followers of the sports to interact with. So I took it upon myself to do my part in popularizing the thrill and the agony behind the purest form of unarmed combat. At EssentiallySports, I try to bring the readers closer to the athletes and focus my coverage on exploring the human side of these martial artists. I’m a musician during my time free from reporting MMA. I operate as the lead vocalist of a rock band that aims to make their mark among the audiences with their original alternative-hard rock songs.
