Without further ado, here are three reasons why you should tune in to ONE Friday Fights 2, set to be broadcasted live from the Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok this Friday, January 27.

#1 A Long-Awaited Rematch That’s Assured To Be A Barnburner

Topping the bill on the promotion’s second event live from “The Mecca of Muay Thai” is a rematch between “The Million Dollar Baby” Sangmanee PK.Saenchai and “Left Meteorite” Kulabdam Sor. Jor. Piek Uthai.

The pair first crossed paths in the semifinals of the ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai Tournament in August 2020, and what was supposed to be an intense back-and-forth battle turned out to be a sweet highlight reel win for Kulabdam.

The two-time Lumpinee Stadium Muay Thai World Champion reminded the world why he is bestowed with the nickname “Left Meteorite,” sending his compatriot down with a devastating left cross.

Sangmanee would love to even the scores in a venue he holds close to his heart. A victory could see him knocking on the doors of a ranked opponent next.

#2 An Opportunity To Understand Various Branches Of Muay Thai

While quick knockouts are certainly a crowd-pleaser, these wizards in the striking department excel in understanding what an opponent brings into the Circle while switching styles midway through a fight to ensure victory.

That is largely down to the various styles of Muay Thai.

Let’s take one of the athletes competing in the night’s headliner bout, Kulabdam, for example.

The Thai fighter comes from a Muay maht lineage, known for their concussive punching power and aggressive style. When their fists need a break, they can set up other forms of attack.

ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Champion Rodtang “The Iron Man” Jitmangnon is another popular figure in Muay maht.

Other styles on display this Friday include Muay femur, Muay khao, and Muay sok.

#3 A Pair Of Entertaining MMA Contests

Muay Thai may dominate the bill, but a couple of mixed martial arts fights will feature earlier in the evening.

Undefeated Australian Harry “Kimura” Grech takes on Iranian tank Arash Mardani in a middleweight encounter, and American kickboxing sensation Jakub “Superjoke” Wayman will open the show against Brit star Riccardo Cantindig-Stagg in a bantamweight affair.
