“4th Time!” – Xiong Jing Nan vs. Angela Lee III Leaves MMA Fans Wanting for More After the Chinese Champion Beat ‘Mom Champ’ at ONE on Prime Video 2

All ONE Championship fighters showed up with the intent on ONE on Prime Video 2 card. The US primetime event for the Singapore-based promotion had top-notch fights from start to finish. The main event was highly anticipated, and both ladies did not disappoint. The champion vs. champion clash saw atomweight queen Angela Lee taking on the strawweight head Xiong Jing Nan.

The atomweight queen pressured the strawweight champion right away. Xiong Jing Nan showed good hands and landed initial blows and looked to go to the body. Lee held her own as she did not back down from attacks coming from the Chinese fighter. However, this proved a mistake as a right put Lee on canvas.

Jing Nan hurt ‘Unstoppable’ again in the round after she got back on her feet. ‘The Panda’ had the power advantage against the smaller Lee. Referee Herb Dean was looking very actively whether Lee was defending herself intelligently. The atomweight champion used her grappling to neutralize the strikes coming from the ruthless Chinese world champion.

The Singapore-America-based athlete still came forward at the end of the first round and ended the round in the clinch. Lee beat the clock in the first round and received huge praise from the crowd.

Round 2

Angela Lee exchanged shots to start the second round. Xiong Jing Nan used the leg kicks and remained calm. Yet her shots rocked Lee and wobbled her.

The atomweight champion took the fight to the ground, held the Chinese fighter in the clinch, and landed lethal knees holding the bigger opponent. Grappling was the go-to for Lee after a tough first.

After getting some punishment on the ground and clinch, Xiong Jing Nan looked hesitant on the feet as well. Lee smartly closed the distance throughout the second round. The bout was contested more in the clinch and ground, which served the grappler Angela Lee. That said, the distance strikes from the Chinese champion had a tremendous impact.

Round 3

‘The Panda’ took charge in the third round. Lee gave the defending champion her moment only to close distance and put her in a clinch. However, this time she was not able to hold it for a longer duration.

The third fight between these two warriors saw another close encounter as they went to the championship rounds again.

The grueling contest had both fighter fatigue. Yet they showed they were not ready to quit.

Lee stuck to her bread and butter, faking a right to close the distance throughout the fourth and fifth rounds. ‘The Panda’ found it tough to put away Lee from her gameplan i.e., grappling exchanges.

With more time passing on the clock the power of the Chinese champion reduced, but she still landed some brutal right hands. Lee appeared fired up at the end of the fight taking everything coming from the strawweight champion.

Xiong Jing Nan’s power proved the difference as she beat Lee by unanimous decision.

The relentlessness of Lee had Jing Nan in trouble. But the Chinese fighter was gamed as well. Another fifth round, another classic, and fans were entertained.

The crowd had mixed reactions to the decision. But the bout was too close for anybody to win decisively in this contest. Xiong Jing Nan extended an offer for the fourth fight in her post-fight interview, whereas Lee was baffled by the decision.
