Bibiano “The Flash” Fernandes makes his long-awaited return to the ONE Championship Circle at ONE on Prime Video 4: Abbasov vs. Lee on Friday, November 18, and the former bantamweight kingpin will be looking for redemption.

Fernandes lost the coveted divisional crown to John Lineker in his last outing in March, and he is hoping to start a run back to the top when he takes on surging Filipino star Stephen “The Sniper” Loman inside the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

The Brazilian superstar has taken time to reflect on his last performance, and he believes it has given him drive and hunger to show the world that he still has the fire to compete.

Bibiano Fernandes learned from defeat

“The fight with Lineker was a good experience. I hadn’t fought for many years, and I didn’t have a fight rhythm. But now, I’m trained and focused for my next challenge,” the Vancouver-based athlete said.

“Since the defeat, I’ve been training a lot. I also focused on my business and family, and I did an MMA event in Manaus, but I’ve been training a lot. I made several adjustments, and I’m ready to fight on November 18.”

The work that Fernandes has put in during his training camp at AMC Pankration seems to have instilled confidence in him – both physically and mentally.

Now just over a week from his return, the 42-year-old superstar is primed and ready to get his career back on track.

Bibiano Fernandes won’t be taken out easily

Standing in the way of his 25th career victory, however, is a man who has been undefeated since 2016, a streak that includes ten successive wins.

Loman has put the entire bantamweight division with his ruthless striking arsenal, and he can put Fernandes in heaps of trouble on the feet.

“The Flash” recognizes the threat that his upcoming foe offers, but he warns that Loman won’t have the same run of success in their showdown at ONE on Prime Video 4 as he had in his past two outings in the Circle.

On the day of the fight, I will be ready to face him. He’s a good athlete, and he can even beat me, but I’ll tell you something: He won’t win easily. I will be a war,” he said.

ONE on Prime Video 4: Abbasov vs. Lee is live and free with an Amazon subscription in the U.S and Canada. Alternatively, fans eager to catch the action live can purchase their tickets here.
