Cypriot striking star Savvas Michael is raring for his upcoming showdown with ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Champion Rodtang Jitmuangnon at ONE on Prime Video 1 on August 26.

“The Baby Face Killer” will take on the Thai superstar in the semifinals of the ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Grand Prix after successfully punching his ticket into the second round of the illustrious tournament thanks to a convincing unanimous decision win over Amir Naseri in May.

Michael’s performance in the quarterfinals set tongues wagging amongst Muay Thai fans, and many have refused to count him out against “The Iron Man,” which has helped bolster his confidence.

The 23-year-old is aware that Rodtang will bring an abundance of skill to the Circle when they square off, but he is ready to test his foe’s ability and believes he has noticed some flaws in “The Iron Man’s” game.

“When Rodtang gets angry, that’s when he does a lot of mistakes. He has some mental lapses when he tries to keep his composure and feels that he has to regain his A-game,” Michael pointed out.

“But you know, he’s a champion because he rarely makes mistakes. I think it’s going to just be one of those fights wherein you have to be 100 percent prepared and avoid making the first mistake.”

“When we fight, I’m going to go there and do my job. It’s a big fight, and I’ll figure out a way to win once I’m there. But he also knows me, and he will bring his well-rounded game. So really, I don’t know what to expect that day from him,” he said.

“However, I do know that I am a hard fight for Rodtang because I’m long, and I got power. I’m being guided by the best fighters in the industry, [and] I will use their pointers to stay disciplined in my training so that when fight day comes, I will be 100 percent focused on beating him.”
