Anissa “C18” Meksen is just days away from the biggest – and most interesting – fight of her career. At ONE Fight Night 6: Superbon vs. Allazov on Prime Video this Friday, January 13, the seven-time Kickboxing and Muay Thai World Champion takes on Stamp Fairtex in a mixed-rules bout featuring four rounds that will alternate between MMA and Muay Thai.

While she’s heavily fixated on perfecting her all-around arsenal for the highly anticipated clash inside the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand, Meksen has also been playing some mind games with the Thai fighter in the lead-up.

Anissa Meksen implied that ONE Championship had made up Stamp Fairtex

In the latest verbal war between the two atomweight stars, Meksen claimed that the #1-ranked atomweight MMA contender only made her name when she joined the Singapore-based promotion. “Before [Stamp] entered ONE Championship, I’m sorry to say it, but she was nothing. She had no title, no fame, and when she entered ONE, ONE built her, built her career,” the 34-year-old said.

“It’s not the same for me. I took everybody out [who was in] my way. I did not choose opponents, nothing. So we will see if she’s the bigger star.” Her harsh words weren’t the first time Meksen threw shade at her upcoming opponent.

Following her assertive win over Dangkongfah Banchamek at ONE on Prime Video 2 this past October – her third victory in a row inside the Circle – “C18” told fight pundit Mitch Chilson that Stamp is more of a dancer than a fighter.

Anissa Meksen eyed to settle the verbal scuffle inside the ONE circle

In response, the former two-sport World Champion reminded the French-Algerian star that she has held belts in ONE, demanding respect for that fact. Those remarks clearly didn’t sit well with Meksen, who believes the three-sport fighter is levels below her.

She plans to settle the debate once and for all when they go to war on ONE’s first fight card of 2023.

“My goal is to finish her – 100 percent. It doesn’t matter during which round, but a first-round [finish] would be good,” Meksen stated. “My goal is to finish her in the first round. [Fans can expect] a quick fight.”
