There is an interesting ONE Championship fight coming up. Famous media personality, Ariel Helwani, revealed on ‘The MMA Hour’ that Arjan Singh Bhullar will soon face Anatoly Malykhin in a heavyweight unification bout. Bhullar last fought Brandon Vera at ONE Championship – Dangal, last year, where he captured the title.

As Arjan Bhullar stayed away from the Circle, Malykhin defeated Kirill Grishenko in the second round through a vicious knockout to secure the interim heavyweight belt earlier this year. Undoubtedly, a unification bout was next on the cards for both the champions.

Helwani said, “Our good friend, Arjan Bhullar, the reigning defending ONE heavyweight champion, will defend his title in a unification bout against Anatoly Malykhin on September the 29th.”

“… this is according to ONE officials, who told us this, and it’s a big-time fight. Arjan Bhullar, last year, made history. First Indian champion, champion of Indian descent for a major MMA promotion.”

The matchup will be part of ONE 161 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Singapore.

Bhullar’s opponent is not just undefeated but also notorious for finishing fights through a T/KO or submission. He has never left the outcome to the judges’ decision.

After Bhullar’s exit from the UFC, he has fought just twice under ONE and had astounding success with a championship win. Hence, his upcoming bout against Anatoly Malykhin will be an interesting clash for fans to witness. With two heavyweights battling inside the Circle for the title, the event is an important one for the division.

The 34-year-old Russian, Malykhin, has a history of being undefeated in his pro and amateur bouts. On the other hand, Arjan Bhullar has just one loss on his record. Back in 2018, he tapped out to Adam Wieczorek at UFC on Fox 29: Poirier vs Gaethje.
