Ben Tynan’s rise at ONE Championship

The charismatic Canadian arrived in ONE to much fanfare late last year, owing to his perfect record and wrestling prowess, and he didn’t disappoint in his promotional bow at ONE Fight Night 16 last November.

Tasked with taking on the heavy-hitting Kang Ji Won, Tynan set about neutralizing his opponent’s most dangerous weapons en route to a third-round submission win.

Now on a 5-0 run, “Vanilla Thunder” will have another tough challenge in his next outing. Didier is a judo and BJJ black belt, so, unlike Kang, he’ll be more willing to mix it up on the ground.

“The Duke of Canberra” has eight wins in his professional record, with five coming by way of submission, and he’ll be eager to rebound from his disappointing split-decision loss to Jasur Mirzamukhamedov in his ONE debut in June 2022.

This heavyweight MMA matchup should add further fire to the ever-growing division, which has seen an influx of talented stars over the past couple of years – with none bigger than reigning three-division king Anatoly Malykhin.

Top heavyweight prospects in ONE Championship

Fans have been treated to show-stopping performances from the likes of Amir Aliakbari, “Reug Reug” Oumar Kane, and Brazil’s Marcus “Buchecha” Almeida and a win at ONE Night Fight 21 for either Tynan or Didier could see them thrown into the mix of World Title contenders.

The event will be headlined by Regian Eersel’s latest defense of the ONE Lightweight Kickboxing World Championship against Alexis Nicolas, and it will be broadcast live and free on Prime Video for fans across North America with an active subscription.
