Christian “The Warrior” Lee succeeded in his mission to reclaim the ONE Lightweight World Title with a thrilling performance at ONE 160 on Friday, August 26. 

Lee bagged a knockout against defending king Ok Rae Yoon, claimed a US$50,000 performance bonus, and rightfully leveled the scores to sit atop the lightweight throne inside the Singapore Indoor Stadium. 

It was also his 15th finish from 16 battles. And despite having a long list of knockouts and submissions to his professional slate, he feels that this was his best performance thus far.

“This has got to be the best moment in my career. And to do so in an impressive fashion, to get a knockout over a tough opponent like Ok, Rae Yoon, this has got to be the best win for me,” the 24-year-old shared.

“For me, I wasn’t chasing the knockout. My main thing this fight was staying composed, picking my shots, and, you know, going for the finish, but taking it in its own time. And so my whole strategy, my approach was to be patient. And that’s why it ended up being done in the second.”

Lee picked apart the Team Mad representative as soon as the match got underway, closing the distance and pounding away with huge shots, sending his rival down in the first round with two thumping overhand rights.

He carried the same energy and fire in the second frame, and it only took him 60 seconds into the canto to string the finishing sequence to perfection.

Christian Lee saw the rematch at ONE 160 as an extended first fight

“The Warrior” leaped forward with a superman punch and a low kick that caught the World Champion off guard. Then, another looping right hand forced Ok onto the canvas. Sensing that the finish was near, Lee unloaded a barrage of knees that eventually forced the referee to call a stop to the match.

“This was a continuation of our first fight. To me, the start of round one was the continuation, it was round six. For me, finishing Ok the way I did, there’s no need for a rematch because I feel that I won the first time. And I made sure that I won the second time. So this is it,” he offered.
