“Johnson’s title won’t play a big role. I’m not made of dough either. [I’m] a former ONE World Champion, now I have a winning streak of five fights, and I’m second in the rankings,” the 34-year-old said.
In an interview with ONE last week, Johnson shared that he would love to square off against Akhmetov as he feels the Kazakhstani fighter deserves a shot at the ONE Flyweight World Title due to his string of wins.

In his most recent outing, the AMC Pankration and Evolve MMA representative took out Moraes with a stunning knee to the face to avenge his defeat and become the first man to finish the Brazilian, along the way claiming the ONE Flyweight World Title.
Nothing has been confirmed yet, but Akhmetov hopes to see his name selected by ONE matchmakers for “Mighty Mouse’s” first world title defense inside the Circle.
“You know, there is a saying: Train until your idol becomes your rival. I hope he accepts my challenge. I only treat him with respect,” he said.
