Former Dual Champion Aung La N Sang Praises “High Level” Roberto Soldic Ahead of ONE Championship Debut

ONE Championship superstar Aung La “The Burmese Python” N Sang is excited to see what Roberto Soldic brings to the ONE Circle. 

The surging Croatian was announced as the organization’s latest signing early last month, and plenty of fighters expect the 27-year-old to make an instant impact amongst the biggest names on the ONE roster.

Former Dual Champion praises the newcomer

Aung La N Sang is aware of Soldic’s experience, and he believes that it will help him to handle the pressure when it comes time to make his debut on the global stage.

“He already has a lot of accolades to his name. He’s not a new talent. He’s been around the block. And he’s been competing at a high level,” the 37-year-old said.

Soldic was the hottest free agent in combat sports prior to signing his ONE deal, and his impressive resume shows why.

He has 17 wins by knockouts across his 20-3 record, and he is riding a seven-match winning streak. Furthermore, he is a two-division champion in KSW, one of Europe’s biggest promotions.

ONE Championship bagged the hottest free agent in combat

The ONE roster and global fanbase are buzzing about “Robocop’s” arrival, and Aung La N Sang is unsurprised by this.

“As a mixed martial artist, you know, for a fact, that he has some skills. If you look at the credentials and the guys he’s [fought against]. So, of course, I know he’s good,” he said.

“It’s not like, ‘Oh, all of a sudden, this guy’s a guy to watch out for.’ He’s going to be a great addition to ONE Championship.”

After all, “The Burmese Python” trained alongside Soldic when the latter made a trip to America and trained at Sanford MMA in Florida.

And, though he may not have shared limited time with him, those short encounters allowed him to understand the ONE newcomer’s well-rounded arsenal.

“I think that was 2020 or a little earlier. He came to Sanford, and we trained a little bit. He just trained for a week or two there. He had his own guys, so the amount of training that I did with him was more of a couple of sparring sessions and a couple of kickboxing sessions,” he recalled.

“He has a very good skill set, a very good left hand, a lot of power, and a very good eye.”

There has been no news regarding his debut yet, but there will surely be a plethora of opponents waiting to test “Robocop” inside the Circle.
