“Free Money Is Good Money” – Submission Grappling Sensation Gordon Ryan Fires at the Ruotolo Brothers Saying He Could Defeat Them “Back to Back”

Gordon Ryan is a noted name in the world of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. The five-time ADCC world champion is often considered to be the best ‘no-gi’ grappler of all time. Ryan is also known for his no-holds-barred speeches on the mic. His feud with the noted grappler, Filipe Pena, made headlines in the world of grappling. However, Ryan’s biggest scuffle took place with Andre Galvao. Ryan had reportedly slapped Galvao twice after Galvao pushed him off following a heated altercation at the ‘Who’s Number One’ promotion on February 26, 2021.

‘The Iron Dragon’ graced the UFC 282 and also appeared at the post-fight interview. He was questioned about his thoughts on the coveted ‘Ruotolo brothers’ as well. Ryan stuck to his usual brash trait on the mic and said that he could take on both of them.

Gordon Ryan lauded the Ruotolo brothers but rated himself as better

‘The Iron Dragon’s’ post-fight interview was covered by the noted MMA coverage house, ‘MMAFighting.com’. They put up a post on their Instagram page which showcased Ryan answering questions about Kade and Tye Ruotolo known as the Ruotolo Brothers. Their post was captioned, “Gordon Ryan calls the Ruotolo brothers “free money””.

One of the reporters asked Ryan, “I just wanted your thoughts on the Ruotolo brothers. They’re taking the Jiu-Jitsu scene by storm kind of.” Ryan’s words displayed his appreciation for the Ruotolo brothers.

He said, “Yeah. They’re very very talented. I’ve known them for years. I knew that you know at some point, I’d be competing against them or I’d be in talks to compete against them.” He also responded to Tye Ruotolo’s callout saying, “Tye actually just called me out”. 

Further, he went on to describe his thoughts about both the Ruotolo brothers saying, “Kade is very polite like he is the same person on social media like he has always been. Tye is getting very confident.” But he saw himself ahead of Kade as he stated, “With me, it’s false confidence.”

Gordon Ryan fired at the Ruotolo brothers by revealing a past offer

‘The Iron Dragon’ made a change to his appreciative tone for his further words. He revealed that previously, there had been talks of a matchup between him and Tye Ruotolo. Addressing Tye, he also stated, “He asked me for 10-1 odds I gave to Filipe. I just told’em to put, him and his brother, they just want the $50,000 bonuses for a ONE Championship”.

Ryan revealed the insane offer saying, “So I told them to put their $100,000 against my $200,000 and I’ll fight them back to back and give them 2-1 odds”.

He also diminished Tye, saying, Tye can hang against the best guys, he can compete against anybody in the world. But, I’m different.”

Speaking about a potential fight against Tye, he said, “Free money is good money.”

A lot would actually agree that these sorts of words were quite expected from Ryan. Especially given his past history of scuffles and feuds.
