Ham “Hamzzang” Seo Hee is ready to throw it down with Itsuki “Android 18” Hirata at ONE Fight Night 8 on Prime Video on Friday, March 24. The promotion confirmed the bout on Thursday, February 9, and it comes just slightly over four months after their initial booking at ONE 163. Their initial duel came to a halt when Hirata missed weight and hydration a day before fight night.

Talks to bring it to a catchweight bout were then unsuccessful, as “Hamzzang” refused to face the judoka specialist at a higher weight class. That led to a lengthy Instagram post from the #2-ranked atomweight contender, who criticized Hirata’s inability to meet the mark for the second time consecutively.

Now that the date has been set, Ham can finally get her hands on her Japanese rival, a former #5-ranked athlete. Although she’s eagerly anticipating the bout and a possible chance to see her inch to the top-ranked spot in the division, she hopes her opposite number can prove her professionalism by making weight and hydration.

“First of all, she’s not a fighter in my opinion because the basic thing that you should do as a professional fighter is to make weight and hydration,” the 35-year-old said.

“I want to finish my unfinished business with her. Ham Seo Hee has a better all-round game but Hirata is also upgrading
Ham, has 33 fights under her belt, and she adjusts pretty well between striking and grappling. Though most of her victories have come by decision, she’s earned seven finishes over her career, proving her efficiency on either fraction of MMA.
Hirata, on the other end, has been heavily reliant on her grappling to rack up a respectable 6-1 resume. Her only defeat came to Jihin “Shadow Cat” Radzuan, which took place at ONE X in March last year.

However, “Android 18” has since undergone intense training sessions in New York to level up her striking, complete her arsenal, and resume a charge toward a ranked atomweight spot.
A victory for both parties will be of utmost importance when they meet at ONE Fight Night 8 on Prime Video on Friday, March 24.
