In a recent video uploaded on his YouTube channel, Haggerty revealed that the rivalry went beyond the fight itself, fueled by trash talk. He stated, “This was a fun one. So yeah, this fight with Andrade—we had a lot of animosity. There was a lot of beef; he brought the trash talk out in me. He talked a good game, and he really talked a lot.”

Haggerty further revealed that when the kickboxing fight was offered to him, he initially thought it would be easier than Muay Thai because of the absence of elbows. However, one complication arose: Fabricio Andrade, also a southpaw, planned to utilize his left hand heavily.

Jonathan Haggerty Revisits Fight Camp For Fabricio Andrade Match

Since his debut in ONE Championship, Jonathan Haggerty has become a crucial fighter for the promotion. In preparation for his fights, Haggerty takes a dedicated approach. He left his comfortable life in the United Kingdom and traveled to Thailand to train for his bout against Nong-O Hama, a decision that paid off handsomely.

He repeated this strategy in his successful title fight against Fabricio Andrade. This dedication ultimately earned him the prestigious status of two-sport ONE Bantamweight World Champion. Recalling his fight camp for the Andrade fight, Jonathan Haggerty revealed, “This was a great fight camp. I did the whole fight camp with my trainer in Thailand. It was probably one of the best fight camps I’ve ever had. If I’m totally honest, I clipped him, and he stumbled once. I saw red and decided to go for it.”
