It’s a difficult task to capture one World Title in ONE Championship, let alone two. But that is what Christian “The Warrior” Lee achieved this year. The Hawaii-based fighter captured the ONE Lightweight and Welterweight World Champion with a pair of highlight-reel finishes to join an elite list of warriors that have held two belts simultaneously.

He also became the youngest two-division World Champion in mixed martial arts in the process. Despite his dominant run of form over the last 12 months, Lee has no plans to take his foot off the pedal in 2023.

In fact, the Singaporean-American fighter wants to shift up a gear to ensure he remains atop the lightweight and welterweight brackets. “It feels great to be a two-division champion. My goal was always to win a World Title, defend the belt, and then claim a second World Title,” the Evolve MMA and United MMA star offered.

“I’ve done all those things so far, and it feels so great to be pretty early in my career in the fight game and still be able to accomplish all of those achievements.”

“For me now, it’s about continuing to fight, continuing to perform to the best of my abilities, and I plan on defending both divisions.”

“The Warrior’s” mental fortitude has played a pivotal part in his rise through the ONE ranks over the last seven years, and it continues to push him to new heights.

Lee looks forward to fighting the best of both divisions

Thanks to it, he feels ready to defeat contenders that come his way in both divisions. And if his two fights this year are anything to go by, Lee is very much in a league of his own. The 24-year-old recaptured the lightweight strap in August by making quick work of old rival Ok Rae Yoon. Then, at ONE on Prime Video 4 last month, he added the welterweight crown with a fourth-round TKO of Kiamrian “Brazen” Abbasov.

Lee is more than ready to deliver similarly spectacular performances in his next outings inside the Circle, regardless of who ONE pairs him up with. “Right now, I think those are the three top guys within the two divisions, and I’m looking forward to facing one of them. It doesn’t matter who first,” he said.

“For me, I try not to play matchmaker too much. I just go in there and do my job so whoever they throw at me I’m ready.”
