“I Want to Submit Her”- Former Two-Sport Champ Stamp Fairtex Issues a Warning to Anissa Meksen Ahead of Their Scheduled Bout

Stamp Fairtex may have her heart set on a rematch with ONE Women’s Atomweight World Champion “Unstoppable” Angela Lee, but at ONE on Prime Video 6 next year, she’ll take a short detour from that goal for a special rules super-fight against striking sensation Anissa Meksen.
The two stars are set to square off in the promotion’s second mixed-rules spectacle, consisting of alternating Muay Thai and MMA rounds, at the January 13 event at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand.

Stamp Fairtex plans to submit Anissa Meksen
Stamp should feel right at home in the striking rounds against “C18,” given her vast depth of skill in that department. But when she envisions how the enthralling battle will come to an end, the top-ranked atomweight contender makes it clear that she’ll look to utilize her ever-evolving grappling skills to get the job done.
“The fans might never have seen me taking anyone down. But in January, I’m surely going to take down my opponent. I want to submit her,” the 24-year-old said.

Though Stamp believes that she has yet to register a successful takedown in MMA, this wouldn’t be the first time that she has forced a rival to tap on the canvas.
The BJJ purple belt secured her first submission win in her ONE debut against Asha Roka, when she forced “Knockout Queen” to tap at 1:29 of the third frame.
And in December last year, the former two-sport ONE World Champion turned heads when she locked in a match-winning armbar over wrestling sensation Ritu “The Indian Tigress” Phogat to claim the ONE Women’s Atomweight World Grand Prix Championship.
Fairtex vs. Meksen: What to expect
Stamp’s success in MMA is undeniable, but she is well aware that Meksen has already begun to hone her all-around skill set, and she expects the multiple-time kickboxing World Champion to have a reputable level of ability by January 13.
Should her efforts on the canvas prove futile, Stamp is confident that she has enough in her striking tank to muster a win over “C18.”
“For me and Anissa, it really depends on who gets the chance to go first. Because she might have the punches, but I have my elbows,” she said.
How the mixed rules super-fight will go down is anyone’s guess, but fans can be sure that things will get heated as the battle draws nearer.

Stamp is staying away from negative remarks for now, however, and she insists that there is no bad blood between the two stars.
“Well, they were just challenging words. We’re challenging each other to come out, do our best, and then meet in a fight in January,” she said.
