Apply enough pressure, and you can create diamonds. ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Champion Rodtang “The Iron Man” Jitmuangnon is a testament to that fact, as he implements it every time he prepares for a fight.

The striking megastar puts his gold on the line against Edgar Tabares at ONE Fight Night 10: Johnson vs. Moraes III – ONE Championship’s historic debut event in North America – on Friday, May 5, in Denver, Colorado, and he admits he’s feeling the heat more than usual this time out.

Rodtang Jitmuangnon wanted to showcase his art of Muay Thai unperturbed by the outcome

After all, it’s his chance to showcase the beauty of “the art of eight limbs” live to a brand new fanbase. That could lay heavy on the shoulders of the sports bgiggest star, but he’s using it as fuel to put on a show.

Rodtang said, “Of course, there is pressure. But I think if I can create this pressure for myself, I can create support for myself too, so when the day comes I can show my Muay Thai style. I want to fight in my own style and show the uniqueness of Muay Thai to the world – whatever the result might be.”

The outcome of his upcoming battle may not be top of the defending World Champion’s list of priorities, but fans can be sure that he’ll fight with everything he has from bell to bell when he welcomes Tabares to the Circle. “The Iron Man’s” ruthlessness and aggression makes him quite possibly the best fighter to watch on the ONE Championship roster, so even those who know nothing about Muay Thai will likely be captivated when he steps into action.

Jitmuangnon placed fans at the top of his priority list

Rodtang said, “I don’t think about winning and losing. I just want to do my part and show the fans who I am, making them happy. They can tell their friends they have watched Rodtang and see how entertaining, aggressive, and fun it is.”

Pressure aside, the opportunity to defend his belt on such a momentous occasion for ONE pushes the 25-year-old dynamo beyond his limits when he’s training. Rodtang has amassed an almost unbelievable 13-0 run in the Singapore-based promotion’s striking ranks, and he’s ready to add to that slate when the Singapore-based organization touches down on American soil for the very first time.

He added, “I’d like to thank ONE Championship for giving me this opportunity to show the art of Muay Thai to everyone all over the world and to have everyone in the U.S. love Muay Thai even more and admire and support Muay Thai more.”
