Senegalese superstar “Reug Reug” Oumar Kane isn’t intimidated at all by three-division ONE MMA World Champion Anatoly “Sladkiy” Malykhin. The Senegalese star recently clinched a victory against Mamadou Kamara at the ONE Fight Night 24 and is looking to defeat Malykhin.

The rise of Oumar Kane on the global stage

A brutally powerful athlete with a championship background in Senegalese wrestling, “Reug Reug” came to the world’s largest martial arts organization with a massive amount of hype and high expectations surrounding him.

Since then, he has largely lived up to the hype. Despite a stunning 2021 loss to former interim World Title challenger Kirill Grishenko, the 32-year-old bruiser has shown massive improvements over the past few years, racking up three impressive MMA wins and, in his most recent outing, a dominant kickboxing victory. That winning streak has Kane brimming with confidence as he prepares for the biggest fight of his life.

In an interview with ONE after his latest victory, he said that no matter where the fight against Malykhin goes, he’s capable of putting the Russian down and out: “Anywhere, you know, jiu-jitsu, wrestling, knockout. You know, I have a big hand, you know. I touch you one time and it’s finished. You see Malykhin’s previous fights, everybody did not touch Malykhin, he runs away. But me, I’m coming for it.”

‘Reug Reug’ promises to finish the match quickly

Some fans might be shocked by the challenger’s confidence. After all, “Sladkiy” boasts a perfect professional record with a 100 percent finishing rate and is the first man in MMA history to simultaneously hold World Titles across three different divisions.

“Reug Reug,” though, isn’t concerned with Malykhin’s accomplishments. He says that fans could be in for a surprise on September 6, as he’s preparing certain weapons for the Russian, including a show-stopping high kick: “Yeah, it’s easy for me. I do it easy, you know. Malykhin doesn’t do high kicks, only punches. But in MMA, it’s everything.”

Both Kane and Malykhin have been going at it on social media for months, and their beef is expected to heat up as ONE 169 approaches. Still, “Reug Reug” couldn’t miss another opportunity to send a message to the three-division MMA kingpin: “Malykhin, I’m gonna kill you. That’s it.”
