ONE Women’s Interim Atomweight Muay Thai World Champion Janet “JT” Todd has had plenty of time to prepare for her World Title unification bout with reigning atomweight Muay Thai queen Allycia Hellen Rodrigues in the co-main event of ONE Fight Night 8 on Prime Video.
After their long-awaited showdown set for last December fell through at the last moment, the American striker has spent the past few months dying to get back into the ONE Championship Circle.

This Friday, March 24, at the Singapore Indoor Stadium and live in U.S. prime time, she’ll finally get her chance to go toe-to-toe with the Brazilian titleholder.
Janett Todd debunks Allycia Hellen Rodrigues
As excited as she is to claim undisputed Muay Thai gold, Todd is wary of what Rodrigues brings to the table. The 24-year-old captured the ONE Women’s Atomweight Muay Thai World Title in 2020 when she earned a hard-fought decision over Stamp Fairtex. And while she hasn’t competed since, she remains one of the planet’s most talented Muay Thai strikers.

“JT” has been carefully studying Rodrigues, and is well aware of her opponent’s most dangerous weapons. She recognizes that the champion loves to attack from inside the clinch and counter-punches with her venomous left kicks.

Speaking of Rodrigues, Todd said:
“She’s a very good kicker, and she’s very good in the clinch. I know that at one point in the fight, we’re going to end up in the clinch because she’s a clinch fighter. And I know that she’s got very good left kicks against punchers, so I’m going to be expecting that too.”
JT also disclosed that she is also confident in her own abilities during the showdown.

Knowing that the Brazilian tends to inflict the most damage fighting in close range, Todd–who also owns the ONE Women’s Atomweight Kickboxing World Title–plans to utilize nuanced footwork to keep the fight at medium or long-range distances.
That way, she says, she can fire off her potent punches and kicks–the same strikes that have garnered her three stunning knockout victories inside the Circle.

The 37-year-old added: “I always like being in more of like a punching and kicking range. So I’d like to use my footwork to keep myself at that range because I think that’s where I excel.”
